Payment fraud experts who got tired of broken tools. Now we build for everyone.

Who we are

GuardHive was founded by payment fraud professionals who spent years inside banks, PSPs, and fintech companies. We saw the same problem everywhere: fraud systems were slow, opaque, and brittle.

Traditional platforms force you to choose between catching fraud and maintaining customer experience. They require constant manual tuning. They fail silently when attack vectors shift. And when a decision matters—a large transaction, a regulatory question, a dispute—you can’t explain why the system said yes or no.

We built GuardHive to solve that problem.

Our values

Be specific, not promotional. We don’t claim to be “industry-leading” or “cutting-edge.” We tell you what we do, how fast it is, and whether it will solve your problem. If it won’t, we say so.

Respect technical intelligence. Our customers read specifications for fun. We write for that audience. No metaphors. No filler. Substance and clarity.

Measure everything. We track model accuracy, false positive rate, latency, uptime, and customer impact. We report honestly. We improve constantly.

Operate like infrastructure. Payment fraud prevention is infrastructure work. We design for uptime, security, and scale. Your fraud decisions should be as reliable as your payment processing.

Keep humans in the loop. Models are powerful but not perfect. Case management, analyst feedback, and human decision-making are built into the platform from day one.

The team

Our founding team includes:

  • Former fraud directors at payment networks and acquiring banks (Visa, Mastercard experience)
  • ML engineers who’ve built fraud detection systems at scale
  • Full-stack infrastructure specialists who understand payments APIs and compliance requirements
  • Payments lawyers who know PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR, and eIDAS inside and out

We’re based in Malta (EU), with team members across Europe and North America. We speak the language of payments.

Why we’re different

We’re not a general-purpose AI company. GuardHive is focused solely on payment fraud. We’re not trying to sell you cybersecurity, identity verification, or compliance tools. We do one thing: fraud prevention.

We’re not a legacy bank platform. We’re built on cloud-native infrastructure from day one. Not retrofitted. Not legacy code running on modern servers. Kubernetes, auto-scaling, and multi-region from the ground up.

We don’t oversell. We don’t claim to eliminate fraud. That’s impossible. What we do: catch more fraud, reduce false positives, give you visibility and control.

We answer to payments professionals. Not executives chasing venture funding. Not product managers optimizing for engagement. Our customers are fraud directors, payments engineers, and risk officers. We build for them.

What we’ve learned

From years in payments, we’ve learned that:

  • Speed matters. Every millisecond of latency costs you approval rate. We optimize relentlessly.
  • Transparency builds trust. When a transaction is flagged, you need to know why. Full audit trails are non-negotiable.
  • Rules and models together are better than either alone. Your business logic (rules) + machine learning = precision fraud prevention.
  • Humans are smarter than algorithms (usually). Case management and analyst feedback improve everything: decision quality, model accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • **Compliance is business.**PCI DSS, GDPR, PSD2—these aren’t overhead. They’re the price of operating in payments. We bake them in.

Looking forward

We’re growing the platform to cover new fraud vectors—account takeover, synthetic fraud, friendly fraud—and new verticals—subscription billing, marketplace sellers, crypto on/off ramps. The core mission stays the same: give payments professionals the tools to prevent fraud with confidence.
